Team Penny and Team Thad are two of the best Memphis AAU teams in the country. This year will be very interesting as State MVP and State champion Chandler Lawson is #20 ranked player in the class of 2019 by ESPN. The East star forward is ready to make his own name out of the Lawson family. The star forward is a gifted athletic 6″8 player that has a high motor. Earlier this year he had a winning dunk that beat Nationally ranked opponent #8 Montverde Academy.
Chandler will team up with #6 player in 2019 by ESPN DJ Jeffries. DJ plays for Olive Branch High School he has perimeter and inside out game the 6″8 versatile forward already has offers from Kentucky and Memphis and many more power conferences.
This is a long awaited tandem to see. Memphis is known for great guards which is still accurate. Two of the best in the city #84 Tyler Harris by Rivals.com and two time AAA Mr. Basketball Alex Lomax who is currently ranked #130 by Rivals.com.. Alex Lomax is looking forward to proving he is better than his current ranking. Lomax will be running the show for Team Penny. While Tyler Harris of Cordova will continue display his long range shooting and jet like quickness. Tyler will be leading Team Thad as he is trying to show he is one of the best in the city.
Teams are still forming and getting ready but stay tuned as I will update you on other local prospects.
