It is no secret now East High School has 3 of the Top players in Memphis. The future of class of 2021 is Lead by 6″6 do everything player Jonathan Lawson. The versatile guard/forward comes from a well known blood line of competitive ballers.
Jonathan’s game is very different from his brothers. Jonathan is more perimeter minded. He can play all five positions & he was a match-up nightmare on the Middle School level. His length and Basketball IQ was dominant at Bellevue and before Bellevue he was a star at American Way Middle School.
Going to East he gets a chance to play with his brother Chandler and possibly win something that his older brothers never did and that’s win a National High School title. The opportunity to play on the biggest stage is hard to turn down. Jalen Brown the (#1 shooting guard) and Kennedy Chandler (#2 point guard) help make the idea of East being contenders for years to come. The Big three get a chance to learn and contribute with some future Division 1 teammates. A team loaded with already 4 or 5 major Division 1 prospects.
Penny Hardaway is building a machine. Not only a machine in Memphis but on the national stage as they battle some of the best in the country. Jonathan Lawson’s ideal position is small forward but he will able to contribute anywhere on the floor.
The Big three are no strangers to each other as they have won many AAU national tournaments together and are familiar with each other off the court. All 3 young men are excellent student athletes that come from great families. All three young men come from a background where there Fathers are huge in there development as student athletes.
It will be a interesting school year coming up at East High School where they will deal with local Love and Hate. Hate is a strong word but when you are good some people don’t want to see you good for  long. East players are prepared for whatever. It’s about to go down. Stay tuned
