Tubby Smith and the Memphis Tigers have picked up a commitment from Lincoln Academy 6-foot-4 guard Myreon Jones, a four star guard, who is currently averaging 20 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals as a senior.

As a junior, Jones averaged 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 assist per game for Huffman High School in Birmingham, Alabama. Jones was widely regarded as the Alabama’s top prospect in the class of 2018. He was also a member of 2017 Class 7A Boys First-Team All-State along with current Memphis Tiger freshman Jamal Johnson, who also hails from Birmingham where he attended Spain Park High School.

Myreon Jones becomes the second member of the Memphis Tigers’ 2018 recruiting class, as he joins 7-foot-4 sweet-shooting Findlay Prep center Connor Vanover, who signed with Memphis back during the early signing period.

Memphis will now turn its attention to four-star Cordova High point guard Tyler Harris, affectionately known to Memphians as “Mr. First 48” for his ability to kill opponents with his ability. Cordova is preparing for a Sub-State game against Memphis East High. The winner will advance to the Tennessee Class AAA State Tournament, while the loser of that game will see their season end.
