The NCAA has issued a memo to agents detailing some new requirements to represent players testing the NBA draft waters. Included in the memo is the need for a bachelor’s degree (Which happens to be something that Super agent Rich Paul famously never got while building his Klutch Sports empire) .
Many believe this stems from what Rich Paul accomplished with top high school recruit Darius Bazley. Paul signed him out of High School, got him a $1Million agreement with New Balance for a year, then hit the NBA. (Drafted by OKC with the 23rd pick in the 2019 NBA Draft) It seems as though the NCAA wants to stop this from happening again.
For those that don’t know Rich Paul is the CEO of Klutch Sports & high school friend of LeBron James. Paul has gained a good amount of notoriety this offseason in reshaping the NBA landscape through clients like LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Draymond Green ,(Just signed a 4yr, $100 million max contract extension with the Golden State) Ben Simmons ($170 million, five-year contract) and others, won’t be eligible to represent prospective NBA players coming from the NCAA ranks.
